Happy Beltaine everyone! Or, as I like to refer to it, happy "dance around the fire naked and go screw like bunnies" day! Nothing like a good old fashioned pagan fertility holiday to get the blood pumping.

And while I am ensconced in my last week of classes and all those finals and final critiques are seriously looming dauntingly large, it is nonetheless Tuesday... and I most certainly could not resist combining two of my favorite things: Tattoos and Fire.

I've been a bit absent of late, my apologies for that. In my defense, my other life has me coming to the end of a semester and neck deep in all the inherent joy of preparing for final exams and critiques, thus with a decided lack of available time for such things as I enjoy doing, like writing, that don't actually promote those ends. Once I complete the semester, though, it's game on and full steam ahead for all of my writing projects. In fact, I have an entire week and a half of much needed vacation before I start my full time job for the summer and I hope to, at the very least, complete my short story and submit it for publishing and also write the final two chapters of a project that has been on the books (on and off) for the last six years. It won't be submitted for publishing any time soon, as it needs massive overhaul - the change in my writing style over that period of time has been fairly significant and the early story in particular just needs serious work - but the plan is eventually to submit that one as well.

In the meanwhile, I couldn't resist a little Tattoo Tuesday action. Without further adieu, I give to you Jamie Dominic.

Punishment, I am a glutton for it.

As though I didn't already have more than enough to do already in the realm of works in progress, I've snapped up one of the prompts for the Goodreads M/M Romance group's 'Love is Always Write' event.  Of all the Dear Author letters, there was just something about this one that reached out and grabbed me.  It's very unlike anything I would come up with on my own, and I think that's one of the reasons it intrigues me so much.  I'm pretty thrilled to be participating and I can't wait to see the story unfold.

In other, far more random news - there I was working on yet another project (though, admittedly, un-writing related) and I came across this.  It's a snippet of writing I did once upon a looooooong time ago with a very specific bent to it (it was supposed to be for a very particular interactive online writing group) but the group, to my knowledge, never went anywhere and the idea got mothballed and all but forgotten.  I came across the file this evening, tweaked it slightly, and have added it to the free reads.
