Punishment, I am a glutton for it.

As though I didn't already have more than enough to do already in the realm of works in progress, I've snapped up one of the prompts for the Goodreads M/M Romance group's 'Love is Always Write' event.  Of all the Dear Author letters, there was just something about this one that reached out and grabbed me.  It's very unlike anything I would come up with on my own, and I think that's one of the reasons it intrigues me so much.  I'm pretty thrilled to be participating and I can't wait to see the story unfold.

In other, far more random news - there I was working on yet another project (though, admittedly, un-writing related) and I came across this.  It's a snippet of writing I did once upon a looooooong time ago with a very specific bent to it (it was supposed to be for a very particular interactive online writing group) but the group, to my knowledge, never went anywhere and the idea got mothballed and all but forgotten.  I came across the file this evening, tweaked it slightly, and have added it to the free reads.

The end of the world as we know it

I woke up this morning to snow after walking around in short sleeves in 60 degree weather yesterday.  No, I didn't do any traveling, shy of driving about forty minutes.  That the weather has been absolutely bizarre this season has nearly given me a near permanent brow quirk and been driving me absolutely nuts.  I haven't skied at all, but then... there hasn't exactly been good skiing for the lack of snow, even here in New England.  Just damned strange.

Ended the week on a warbly note:  Great news at work about two coworkers who will shortly no longer be coworkers, much to my delight, and the boss sent us home early (yay!).  Got home to find a $53.50 ticket from the state of Massachusetts (bastards) for a snafu with my EZ Pass (boo!).  But then went out to eat with my fabulous husband and now am home curled up with my computer in my flannel LT3 PJ's and settling in to get some damned writing done (yay!).

Is it a bad sign that I'm pleading with the muses for mercy before I've even opened the file?
